About the role:

Reports to: IT Operations Infrastructure Team Leader

Department: Information Technology

The Infrastructure Team requires an additional Infrastructure Engineer to join their ranks.

The role requires someone who holds a wide-ranging technical skillset, works well within a close-knit team, and above all, enjoys the challenge of working with technology.

  • The position sits alongside fifteen other engineers and specialists.As a team, they are responsible for supporting, maintaining, and implementing all aspects of the IT infrastructure

  • This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a team skilled in all aspects of IT, with decades of experience between them.

  • Fundamentals of the infrastructure include a core of Microsoft technologies across both the desktop and server estate, substantial presence in cloud computing environments e.g. AWS and Azure, enterprise hardware from vendors including Cisco, Fortinet, Avaya and Dell.

  • The model candidate must be enthusiastic and self-motivated, enjoy working in a varied and challenging environment, and preferably have career experience of 2 years+ in supporting Wintel systems and a good understanding of remediating security vulnerabilities.

SAP Integration Project Manager

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP integration projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with business leaders and IT teams.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against milestones.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all SAP integration initiatives, liaising with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and SAP consultants.

About the role:

 

To plan and manage complex projects of a technical nature, balancing available resources (timelines and technology) and monitoring progress against plans to maximise the likelihood of successful delivery.

 

Responsible for identifying the lifecycle of key Infrastructure services and presenting best options for replacements.

 

A key element to this role is the ability to collaborate with authority and to foster and maintain excellent working relationships with staff at all levels across the University.

 

Lead on risks and issue management, identifying and managing risks and issues to mitigate key process and operational risks relating to the effective delivery of specialist area.

  • Experience of:

    • Fundamental understanding of security best practices within an enterprise environment

    • Cisco software defined networking for efficient automated management of network.

    • Working in an Enterprise datacentre and the practical application of High Availability, Resilience, and clustering server techniques. 

    • Hybrid cloud network architectures and their practical application.

Network Operations Technical Team Lead-filled

You will be responsible for multiple Network operations infrastructure and services, managing a team of infrastructure engineers from senior to junior level.

Oversee infrastructure and services related hybrid cloud network connectivity and wired and wireless networks, including hybrid cloud data centre connectivity, DNS, Firewalls, core, distribution, and edge campus wide.  In addition, you will be responsible for operational infrastructure such as racking, data cabling, cooling, and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems across approximately 90 communication rooms and two data centres.

 

Provide strategic direction and work with enterprise and solution architecture to put in place  standards and frameworks.

To lead and support project and operational activites, prioritising accordingly to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met and infrastructure services and systems are highly available and secure.

Recruit, mentor and develop a technical team ensuring appropriate training is in place for key skills to be developed and keep pace with technology changes.

Be able to effectively manage and coordinate activity across multiple work streams and where appropriate work in conjuction with project managers on major change projects ensuring the teams delivery is aligned with project plans.

Ensure QA processes are embedded in the work of the team and robust, maintainable services are developed.

Ensure the work of the team follow industry standard best practice from requirements gathering, design, development through to support and maintenance.

Monitor and review the success of solutions and develop plans for ensuring their effective and efficient running both immediately and post project.

Ensure resources are managed effectively and matched to business demand for project and BAU activities to ensure business continuity and high quality service delivery.
