Accountable for: Communications Co-ordinator, Digital Engagement Officer, Designer, Freelance designers, videographers and creatives, communications and marketing volunteers.

Role Accountabilities

Drive LGBT Foundation’s communications, ensuring high quality and creative communications across all programmes.

Manage and monitor LGBT Foundation’s press, online, and social media presence, exploiting opportunities to maximise the impact the organisation makes within LGBT communities, in wider society, and with our partners and stakeholders.

Ensure our communications and online presence reflect and serve the full diversity of our communities

Manage the development and delivery of LGBT Foundation’s communications work in order to meet our two year forward plan objectives

Assume overall responsibility for all LGBT Foundation communications channels including our website, social media, printed resources, and external emails,

Author our annual and impact reports and consistently promote our impact and work using insight and evidence

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with media contacts and partners

Maintain and further develop relationships with LGBT sector partners, focusing on joint communications and campaigns
-
Provide leadership and support to our staff team to ensure coverage of our key messages, projects and services in press and our own communications channels, including upskilling a bank of LGBT media spokespeople

Use available packages to measure and evaluate the impact of our communications and marketing activity against the targets in our business plan, working with our Performance Manager

Ensure that LGBT Foundation is at the forefront of public debate on LGBT issues, responding rapidly to issues of public interest in a way that engages LGBT communities and the wider public

You will also be responsible for LGBT Foundation’s role as the lead partner of the National LGBT Partnership, which combines the expertise of ten key LGB&T organisations across England and works closely with the LGBT Health Team at NHS England.

Role Accountabilities

Influence the policy environment in order to strengthen awareness of the needs and issues of LGBT communities at the local, regional and national level and advance the organisation’s overall policy objectives.

Lead LGBT Foundation’s strategic engagement with key public and voluntary sector stakeholders in order to promote the needs of LGBT communities.

Manage the day to day operations of the National LGBT Partnership to strengthen awareness of the needs of LGBT communities at a national level.

Oversee our research programme, developing new research partnerships and generating new evidence on LGBT people’s experiences and needs.

Ageing Officer
(Events and Services)

Salary: £18,571 per annum (+10% pension)
Hours: 37 per week
Special Terms: Fixed Term for 15 months
2021 - Includes some evening and weekend working patterns

Role Accountabilities
-
Assist in the design and running of a programme of events specifically for LGBT over 50s (either remote-delivered or in person depending on government restrictions and advice in 2021)
-
Support with the intake process to services run by Pride in Ageing, such as Rainbow Brew Buddies. This includes completion of assessment with new service users, matching service users with volunteers and monitoring their progress within the service.

Help to maintain our relationships with community groups and organisations working with and led by over 50s
-
Supporting with research to better understand the needs of LGBT over 50s.
-
Capture and input data and learning from running of events programme and services for use in monitoring reports
-
Undertake administrative tasks to support the Pride in Ageing programme and Pride in Ageing Advisory Group, including arranging meetings and writing newsletters
-
Hours – 37 per week, with an expectation of evening and weekend work.
As travel across Greater Manchester is inherent in this role, project related travel costs will be covered by the programme, including all necessary travel associated with evening and weekend work.
