     Director of HR & Support Services

 

Hours of Work:35 hours per week (with flexible/hybrid working)

 

Salary:NJC Pay Scale Points 35 – 38: £41,496 - £44,539

 

Reports to:Chief Executive

 

 

About Us

 

Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. The aim of the organisation is to combat racism through anti-racism education, whilst using football as an engagement tool and to positively campaign and promote the anti-racism message.

 

Job Summary

 

The post involves responsibility for Human Resources, people management and implementation and management of SRtRC Policies and Procedures.

The role is also responsible for workforce development in line with Show Racism the Red Card’s Strategic Plan 2023-2026.

 

This is a managerial role overseeing the line management of Comms, IT support and Fundraising.

 

The successful candidate will be a member of the Executive and Senior Management Team (SMT).

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • To act as a professional HR Lead providing advice and support for a rangeof

strategic workforce issues 

 

  • To provide expert and professional HR advice to the Senior Management

Team

 

  • To lead on workforce development, overseeing Learning and Development

plans for SRtRC staff

  • Responsible for implementation and management of SRtRC Policies and 

            Procedures

 

  • To ensure that the Executive and SMT are trained in SRtRC’s HR processes 

 

  • To support and manage change, working in partnership with the Executive to

aidcontinuous improvement and implement improvement programmes (e.g.

changes to working practices, organisation changes and excellence

programmes)

 

  • Partnership working with recognised trade unions and professional bodies

 

  • To work with the Executive to improve people management systems for the

UK offices

 

  • Line management of the Managers of Communications, IT support and

Fundraising

 

  • Producing reports to the Board of Trustees and other relevant bodies

 

  • Attending Board of Trustees and Sub Committee meetings where appropriate

 

  • Management of all internal and external recruitment including short-listing,

interviews andonboarding, in conjunction with the Personnel Sub Committee

 

  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as decided by the Chief

Executive

 

Person Specification

Skills & Knowledge

 

Essential

 

 

  • (Associate) Level 5 in HRM and Chartered membership of Chartered Institute

of Personnel & Development  (CIPD)  

 

  • Track record of effective leadership, development and motivation of staff

 

  • Previous experience of project management

 

  • The ability to develop and deliver programmes of training to managerial staff

            to a high standard

 

 

  • Comfortable maintaining confidentiality internally and externally

 

  • Experience of working to identify problems, assess risk and apply innovative

solutions based on knowledge and experience

 

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills

 

  • Confident advising on employment law and statutory rights, with the ability to

be persuasive towards stakeholders when appropriate

 

  • Comfortable working at pace with multiple priorities and tight deadlines

 

  • An excellent communicator both written and verbal

 

  • Experience of coaching others and leading projects

 

  • Knowledge and expertise of anti-racism and racism

 

  • Knowledge and expertise of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and the Equality

Act 2010

 

 

Desirable

 

  • Educated to relevant degree level

 

  • Knowledge of football
